QuiiQ MOVIES WebService Issue.

There is an issue regarding the QuiiQ MOVIES Webservice.

If you keep getting an error while trying to connect to QuiiQ MOVIES Collector, Projector and Collection Manager; please do the following procedures:

  1. start QuiiQ MOVIES Control Center.
  2. "right-click" the Control Center icon in the "icon tray" (near the windows vista clock).
  3. select the option "Network service".

If all sub-options are disabled (like in the picture) there is a problem with the Webservice that QuiiQ MOVIES uses.


--- WHO'S AFFECTED ---
User of some OEM Vista systems, predominantly using non-US versions of windows vista.

--- POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM ---
Windows Vista "Star Menu" junction point in the "C:\ProgramData" folder is broken.

--- TEST THE PROBLEM ---
  1. Open Windows Explorer window.
  2. Type "C:\ProgramData\Start Menu\Programs" in the address bar and hit the "Enter" key.
If you got an error message, then the problem exists.

--- SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM ---
  1. Uninstall QuiiQ MOVIES.
  2. Please download this archive (click here to download).
  3. Unzip and save the "BAT" file on your computer.
  4. "Righ-click" the file and select the option "Run as administrator".
  5. Open Windows Explorer window.
  6. Type "C:\ProgramData\Start Menu\Programs" in the address bar and hit the "Enter" key. To see if every thing works now.
  7. Install QuiiQ MOVIES.
